issue with Explorer

Recommended Posts

I'm running W10 and have noticed an issue with Windows Explorer. When I select Documents, Turbotax under This PC, I get different results than using C, users, my name, documents, turbotax. Why is that and how to fix?

That is most likely because those are different paths to the data. Documents does not necessarily point to  your C:\Users\<username>\Documents folder, but depends on your application pointers and actual pointers embedded in 'hidden' files/folders.  Documents actually points to a folder called My Documents ( a leftover from earlier Windows versions, but still hanging around).
